日本繪本作家岩井俊雄再一次出版了他「100層樓的家」系列，從地下、海底、天空轉進了森林。在這本繪本中，岩井俊雄仍然保有其100層樓家的繪本特質，進一步融進了音樂的元素，以統整式的手法加入森林中的諸多動物，創造出森林的音樂會。
100層樓中，每10層樓是一種動物的家。每種動物依其特徵，選用不同的樂器。如鍬形蟲運用的樂器是銅鈸和響板；竹節蟲透過其保護色在家中遍尋不得，而其使用的樂器是長笛。這些動物各有其特徵，孩子在閱讀這本書，也可以根據特徵，思考使用不同樂器的其他可能。每一種動物的10層樓家中，也連接出一個日常生活的故事。孩子在閱讀圖片的同時，也可以敘說生活經驗，編創故事。
