日本全國繪本獎

隨著生活型態走向都市化，這一代孩子享受豐裕的物質，但同時也損失許多寶貴的東西。其一，是失去體驗大自然的機會。其二，是缺乏與親人共同面對生活困難，同甘共苦、共患難的學習經驗。　　

此時，在世界眾多優秀兒童圖畫書中，我們特別鍾愛岩村和朗的「十四隻老鼠」系列，並非因為它曾贏過比賽大獎，而是因為作者在這套書中流露出極豐富的自然觀察、家族生活體驗。這份自然之美與家族親情之愛交融無間的作品，使我們愛不忍釋，深覺它是最適合給現代兒童看的圖畫書。

作者岩村和朗，一九三九年生於東京。他在東京藝術大學畢業後，一度曾任職美術設計及電視卡通節目。然後，他全心全意投入了圖畫書的創作。最有意義的，是他厭倦東京都市生活，毅然帶領家人到郊外，自己選地、蓋家屋、尋水源，克服種種生活困難，過「回歸自然」的生活。從這經歷，我們可以充分瞭解岩村和朗創作「十四隻老鼠」靈感來源了。

「十四隻老鼠」以家族三代老鼠大家庭為主角，系列圖畫書包括：
「大搬家」──家族尋找美好環境、合力蓋家屋。
「吃早餐」──家族一起在大自然裡尋找食物。
「挖山芋」──在秋天裡尋找足以過冬的糧食。
「過冬天」──冬日大雪紛飛，家族自己製造玩具、尋樂趣。
「去郊遊」──冬去春來，萬物生發，是家族郊遊踏青，認識野生動植物的最好時機。
「洗衣服」──夏日炎炎，家族合作到河邊洗衣服，從工作中反而享受到了無限清涼。

珮思的父母來自台灣，因此她對這塊土地有著特別的情感；曾赴台灣、香港和中國旅遊的經驗，更成為她創作的靈感來源。目前已出版二十多本著作，包括繪本、橋梁書和青少年小說，跨文化的題材與插圖，不僅榮獲多項大獎，也深受讀者肯定與喜愛。
