This is an interactive bilingual globe. It comes with a reading pen and when you tap a country, it will say the name, the capital, official languages, and a few facts. I love the idea of this so much. It comes with a guide so you can read it as well if you feel it speaks too quickly.
FYI reading pen also uses the official names of the countries instead of the common name which I don't find helpful for children. I don't think children need to know "Hellenic Republic", they need to know it as "Greece". Or that "French Republic" is "France". But I am glad at least on the globe itself the common names are used and not the official names so I can at last read it myself.
However I have deducted 1 star because some of the facts are plain wrong and that is not acceptable for an educational item.
Example 1: United States of America - This product states the largest state in the USA is Texas. That is wrong. It is Alaska.
Example 2: Canada - it states Canada is a continent. That is wrong. It is a country in the continent of North America, but Canada itself is NOT a continent.
Because of those errors, I don't know how much I trust the "facts" given by this globe. I'll probably end up verifying the facts to make sure I do not pass on false information to my child.
Overall I still love it! I just think the facts need better editing and proofreading.
Finally found something that could hold my daughter's water bottles. It's very useful, and we love it!
The quality is excellent, and the kid loves it! Thank you!
Fun series for upper elementary grades. My daughter laughs out loud when we read it together. I like that the book is one complete story instead of having little episodes for each chapter (like some other popular series do).
2 kids, 50 books, 1 month. We did it! It was hard work but I really enjoyed being forced to read books outside our usual bubble of topics. Thank you to Yo! Baby for hosting this wonderful challenge.
